Pitch Checklist

When presenting a pitch to a film business, you have to make sure you mention every little detail about your film and use exciting words to 'big up' your film. You have to use expressive and be clear about what your film is about and use sophisticated terminology.

In a presentation you should include every aspect of your film. You have to answer all these questions in your presentation...

  • What genre is your film?

  • What other films in this genre have inspired your film/is your film similar too?

  • Who is the target audience for your film?

  • When will the film be released (what season?)

  • How much will your film cost to make?

  • How much will it make?

  • Who will star in the film?

  • Who will direct the film?

  • By answering all these things, it will put your pitch across a lot better as all the boxes will be ticked about what they want to know.

Things you should definatly mention in the pitch without fail is about the story.  Things to include are:

  • A general outline of story

  • Apply Todorov's narrative theory

  • Consider a whole story for the pitch

  • What the moral of the story is
